• 8 (about 1.2kg) chicken drumsticks
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) honey
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbs finely grated ginger
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds
  • Stir-fried Asian greens, to serve
  • Steamed jasmine rice, to serve
  • Use a small sharp knife to cut 2 slashes, about 3 cm long and 1cm deep, in the thickest part of each chicken drumstick.
  • Combine the honey, soy sauce, ginger and sesame seeds in a large glass or ceramic bowl. Add the chicken and toss to coat in sauce. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 1 hour to marinate.
  • Preheat your oven to 200C. Line an oven tray with baking paper. Drain the drumsticks from marinade and arrange the chicken over the lined tray. Bake the drumsticks in the preheated oven, turning occasionally, for about 30 minutes or until the drumsticks are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Divide chicken among serving plates. Serve with stir-fried Asian greens and steamed rice, if desired.
